While in Williams we took several side trips.

We went to Flagstaff for the Zuni Fest where we saw lots of native jewelry and art. Olla maidens and Celecion Dancers performed. We had seen them in Gallup two years ago.

Oatman is a quirky and historic little town with donkeys roaming around. It was very hot the day we visited. Our car temp said 122 degrees! All the burros were trying to stay in the shade. We went to the Oatman Hotel which isn't a hotel any longer. Had a cool drink at Judy's Saloon.

From Oatman we journeyed to Peach Springs which is 10 miles from the Grand Canyon Caverns. We took a tour of the caverns. We had been here years ago but it was fun to see it again. After the tour we drove to Seligman on the historic Route 66. It was my birthday so we celebrated at the Roadkill Cafe.

We also went to the Flagstaff Folk Festival. In our opinion not as good as the festival in Glendale, AZ but it was still fun.

At the end of our time in Williams we moved Monti to Clint's Well where it stayed while we went to Africa.
