To celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary we went to Kenya and Tanzania. It was a trip of a lifetime. Every day was an adventure as we traveled in our safari vehicles.

We saw an amazing array of animals including elephants, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, baboons, zebras, wildebeest and many more.

Visiting a Masai village was a highlight of our trip. The Masai people are so kind and contented in their lifestyle. We were invited into one of the homes, which are made of mud by the women. It takes seven days to build a home.

A very special sight awaited us in Serengeti. From our patio at the Four Seasons we counted over 50 elephants walking to the water hole. The hotel had an infinity pool and just beyond it was the water hole. We loved watching the animals come to drink.

Another highlight was the hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara. It was a different perspective, seeing the animals from above.

We were fortunate to see so many animals. One day our guide heard that hyenas were following a leopard. He followed the hyenas and we came upon a leopard with his kill of a wildebeest up in a tree. We were able to watch as he ate some of the kill.

We saw the last three living Northern White Rhinos. So sad that this animal will be extinct soon. A few months after our trip the male died.

On our last evening we had a sundowner on a hill overlooking the Masai Mara. The sunset was amazing. A wonderful ending to an amazing trip. One we will never forget.
