We left Pete and April's house in Powell River, after a delicious breakfast that Pete made. We drove to Saltery Bay and took the ferry to Earl's Cove. Then we drove a short distance to Egmont. In the afternoon we hiked one hour through forest and ferns to Skookumchuck Rapids. It is a place where high tide creates rapids. We watched as kayakers ran the rapids. Then the sky looked threatening and we had to hurry back to our hotel amid rain and lightning. We neglected to bring our rain gear and we got drenched.

The next day we went to Backeddy Dock where we boarded our boat for a tour of Princess Louisa inlet. Tall granite mountains are on either side of the inlet. The tour goes up Jervis Inlet first, ending at Princess Louisa inlet. The scenery is just stunning. We hiked to Chatterbox Falls where we stopped to eat lunch.

The next day we headed south, stopping at Garden Bay where we hiked up Pender Hill. The view was amazing - we could see all the way to Vancouver Island. From there we drove to Sechelt. The seawalk took us to several totems commemorating self government which was enacted around the year 2000.

We drove further south to Gibson's Landing, a cute beach town. We took pictures of Molly's Reach, a restaurant featured in a popular Canadian TV show called The Beachcomber. At Gibson's Landing we took the ferry at Langdale and saw some incredible mountain views. When we got off the ferry we made our way across the border back to the United States.
