2016 AIRSTREAM JOURNEYS
After spending a week with my mom, we headed to the Redwoods. We stopped first at Richardson Grove RV park in Garberville, California. At Richardson Grove State Park we enjoyed our walk along a path among the redwoods and to the river.
The next day we arrived at Mill Creek Campground at Del Norte State Park. Site #50 was perfect for our 34 foot Airstream for our week long stay. There was a beautiful redwood tree right outside our front door. Our friends, Allen & Pat spent three days with us and we had fun exploring the area.
At one of the ranger campfire talks we learned that in the 1800's most of the old growth trees were logged out. Today redwood trees are being replanted because they are good for the planet. Redwoods pull in carbon and store it.
Battery Point Lighthouse is always worth a visit. We enjoyed a stroll down to Endert's Beach where we watched people flying kites. There was also a cluster of flags on the beach to commemorate Memorial Day.
