2016 AIRSTREAM JOURNEYS
While in Corvallis, we visited our sister-in-law, Jeanne and her daughter and family. Jeanne and Phil took us to Foster Lake and we had a delicious meal at The Point Restaurant.
Another day we drove to Monmouth where we stopped at the EE Wilson Wildlife area. We saw wildflowers, cherry trees, apple trees and blackberry bushes. The clouds were threatening rain by the time we reached the pond. We left our rain gear in the truck so had to make a hasty retreat. We drove towards Falls City and then took Rt. 223 south back to Corvallis. We stopped to see the Ritner Creek Covered Bridge which was built in 1926 and also Fort Hoskins. The fort was built for protection against the Indians in the area. We were surprised to see some yaks in a pasture near the Fort.
