2014 AIRSTREAM JOURNEYS
We usually love deep sea fishing with Tradewinds Charters at Depoe Bay. However, the day we went out the sea was very rough with strong winds. It was the only time John has ever been sick on a fishing trip. Fortunately I took Dramamine, but still felt a little queasy on this trip. We only caught three sea bass and a Cabezon. We paid for a combo crab/fishing trip and were able to take home nine crabs. The guys at Tradewinds cleaned and cooked the crabs. The following day we spent the morning cracking the crab shells and got 10 cups of crabmeat. I made a casserole one day and crab cakes another. Yum!
On another day we went on a whale watch trip with Tradewinds. We saw a few whales but most were too far out to photograph.
We drove to Boiler Bay which is just north of Depoe Bay. It was foggy so we could not see much. The sun came out when we got to Otter Crest Drive. We took pictures of a beautiful stone home on the cliff and a fisherman perched precariously on one of the rocks.
